The practice was commissioned by Fingal County Council to prepare the Urban Design Framework Plan for the village of Blanchardstown. The Plan area stretches from the traditional entrance to the Village on the eastern side to the new town centre to the west. It determines the quality of the existing public realm as well as proposes improvements, identifies opportunity sites and sets outs an urban strategy for these. Individual sketch briefs have then been prepared considering issues of use, density, 3-dimensional expression, materials and architectural design. The Plan facilitates a plan-led approach to assessing future planning applications.
