The practice was commissioned by Fingal County Council to prepare a Local Area Plan for 240ha of lands at Cherryhound, near Blanchardstown. The lands are zoned GE “General Employment” in the Fingal County Development Plan 2011-2017. The Plan outlines the optimal sustainable development strategy for the area over a period of time longer than the statutory 6 years. It sets out the form, scale and nature of development and supporting infrastructure which will enable the delivery of opportunities and general enterprise and employment.
MacCabe Durney Barnes liaised with all relevant stakeholders, government agencies and local authority departments to deliver the plan to the Local Authority. It was then adopted by the Council in December 2012.
