Redevelopment and Expansion of Jurys Inn Hotel Custom House

The practice was commissioned with BKD Architects to gain planning consent for the redevelopment and expansion of the Jurys Inn Hotel at Custom House Quay, Dublin 1 (now trading as the Hilton Garden Inn Custom House). Planning permission was sought for extension to the rear at ground level and additional storey to bring the height of the hotel to eight floors. A new six-storey over ground element to the west of the building and the redesign of the hotel entrance with glazed canopy and new render gives the hotel a more modern look in line with the Liffey corridor and the Dublin Docklands skyline. The proposed development also significantly increases the number of hotel rooms, contributing to the Dublin’s growing tourism industry.

MacCabe Durney Barnes was in charge of securing the planning permission and was involved since the design of the project in 2009. Permission was finally secured in 2015 from An Bord Pleanála. MacCabe Durney Barnes continues to provide planning advice to the Project Management team during the construction phase.
