A Review of the Role of the Heritage Council in the Planning Process

MacCabe Durney Barnes was commissioned in 2023 by the Heritage Council to carry out a review of the role of the Heritage Council in the planning process. The project sought, inter alia, to examine the criteria that trigger responses to referrals and given a scheme of priorities. MDB also made recommendations to the Council on the development of a new policy document on the role of Heritage Council in the planning process. This is to reflect the national remit of the Council but is tailored to the size of the organisation.
