The practice was commissioned with Metropolitan Worksop and Shaffrey Associates by Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company to prepare a masterplan for the harbour area. The masterplan provides an analysis of development opportunities having regard to policy and other physical, ecological and infrastructural constraints. An important aspect of the commission was the co-ordination of planning, environmental, architectural and conservation matters.
The Plan was shortlisted in 2015 in the “Excellence in Planning to Create Economically Successful Places” category by the Royal Town Planning Institute.
MacCabe Durney Barnes provided masterplanning services and undertook the Strategic Environmental Assessment. The practice also carried out extensive consultation with the key stakeholders including the Council, residents’ groups and user groups
