Grand Canal Square Technical and Operational Review

The practice was commissioned by the Dublin Docklands Development Authority to prepare an operational and technical review of Grand Canal Square, Dublin. The Square of c.10,000 sqm is one the biggest in Dublin City and was designed by leading landscape architect Martha Schwartz. The review included a pedestrian movement and activity survey to evaluate the success of the Square as a public space, as well as identifying current and potential maintenance issues arising from its features.

MacCabe Durney Barnes designed and undertook the survey and then made recommendations in relation to land uses, public realm features, health and safety, maintenance and property management.
